clothes iron, hammer, axe, flashlight and pitcher on brown wooden table

Hello, I'm Victor! Nice to Meet You

As the owner, I do the job myself -
so every job & project matters,
no matter how big or small!

I have years of experience in carpentry, tiling, stucco, basic remodeling, door installation, painting, epoxy floors, fences, waterproofing, gazebos, cabinetry, general household repairs, shelving, window dressing, shutters, sanding,  - you name it!
As well as ....... well you know - those little annoying 'nik-naks' around the house
that you've been avoiding or that your husband has been promising to get to but he just doesn't have the time to.
I'll put up your new 75 inch TV, install the kids' basketball hoop,
re-arrange furniture for a fresh new look, install drape rods, I'll even hang the curtains.
Let me install your new kitchen cabinets
or just paint and fit new handles to spruce it up!
Maybe you need to put that
'Bed in a Box' together that you ordered online weeks ago, which seems to have parts missing
or you need a doggy door installed
for your new 4-legged fury child.
And basically anything that jams, squeaks, or leaks!

I have genuine references from all kinds of clients - including the difficult ones, just ask my wife!
She is probably the most
demanding customer of them all
but who pays me in love and kind -
and for that, I am truly
a happy and lucky man!

Cheers,
Victor Ferreira
Happy Husband, Proud Dad,
Helpful Handyman
& Overall Neighborhood Nice Guy!

Just a Few of My 100's of Projects
Come back & Visit as I'll keep adding more pics

New Gazebo

The owner decided to install a new and rather heavy wood gazebo - naturally I was excited!  Turned out great don't you think?

Wooden Deck

This home in Los Angeles has an amazing view over the Valley and the owner decided it was time to repair and stain the wrap around deck. Very chuffed with this one!

Classic Door Restoration

This beautiful Calabasas home with fine finishes deserved a timeless classic door - and I made sure it was restored to this old grand dame's original and timeless glory!

French Doors

Once there was a window from the dining-room then there was a French double door leading from the dining room and looking outward to the pool and pretty garden.

Outdoor Upgrade

What once used  looked like  a square box at the back of our home, was later transformed into a Mediterranean mini-villa by adding a patio with Spanish roof tiling, stone floor tiles, French doors and we completed the look with fountains, bougainvillea & grape vines.

The 'Famous' Postbox

I can't tell you how many times I have had to re-install this postbox - it keeps 'jumping'  in front of my customer's car and sometimes it even sneaks up behind her when she backs-up her car out of the driveway!

My Biltong 'Kas'

I'm originally from South Africa & so I love 'Biltong' -  which is a less chewier type of beef jerky.  I couldn't find a drying box here in L.A to air dry & hang the meat so you guessed it I built my own! By the way, you can order Biltong from my Mrs' Etsy store.

Painting in Malibu

The owner needed her Italian inspired oceanfront villa refreshed and she wanted the outdoor oceanfront area restored & painted in whites and beach-sand neutrals.  Loved this project as I watched the whales in the pacific ocean, while working.

 Sliding Door & Built Patio

I built a brick patio extension and completed it by adding meranti wood sliding doors, complemented with African slate floor tiling. I also built the patio roof on concrete columns, with wood rafters to support the Spanish roof tiles that I installed.

Pool Tiling

This pool originally had terracotta paving around it but the owners decided on African black slate - slate is challenging as the tiles have to be cut with a grinder. So worth the trouble when its finished!

Patio Pergola

A Woodland Hills old patio gets a makeover and sturdy repair with this dark stained pergola.
It always amazes me that sometimes the most simplest jobs, may take the longest but are so rewarding
when they're completed.

Extended Home-Office & Bathroom

A small study was given an additional 100sq ft of space to double-up as a guest bedroom & a luxury guest bathroom en-suite was added later.  I also fitted custom mahogany  shelves & a wardrobe but I cant find the pics!  Uhhhh!

Pet Garden Gate

I built this gate in the style of the home's picket fence. 2 ft high and several feet in length to keep four-legged children to the back of the garden and away from the prized azaleas and herb patch.

 Lady Liberty

I carried & secured Lady Liberty  onto the roof of an iconic beach-front diner located in Santa Monica.  I even helped put up an old plane on the roof but I'll deny it if you snitch on me!

Glass Mosaic Counters

My 'Mrs' went on a shopping spree and decided she wanted the kitchen serving counter tiled in glass mosaic imported from Israel no less, of course I obliged. Voila 3 hours later & done!

Drapes & Rods

Another project for the Mrs!  She's creative and wanted metal wall-art fitted to drape rods to make the living and dining room sliding doors - quote "Zoosh"
I think that means extra fancy!

Cabinetry Repairs

Even the oldest cabinets can get a face-lift with Swarovski crystal door handles and a fresh coat of paint. I'll also fix loose hinges and oil squeaky drawer sliders that get stuck. Simple yet effective!

Floating Shelves

This wrap around floating shelving that I made from scratch, plank by plank, for a customer who wanted to spruce up her greenhouse - her fingers are even greener now!

Staircase Repair

This staircase that was badly scratched & damaged, sanded and stained clear.  Personally I would have taken it up a notch & clad this double-volume staircase in dark ebony stain for a more dramatic effect

Stone Masonry

The new owners of an old town-home decided to have their fire-place, stone clad. It looks very rustic and it made their small living room seemingly larger by making it the new focal point of the room.

Wrap Around Picket-Fence

It seems that vintage is back in fashion as I am getting more requests to take down fences and replace them with a good sturdy classic  - the humble  'American Dream' 50's style picket fence

Epoxy Garage Floor

I love a clean spacious garage so when the owner of a modern Calabasas home decided to renovate one of her properties to attract new tenants, I suggested that the garage floor be leveled and epoxy sealed in gray. Leased in no-time!

Light Fittings & Fans

The ladies love to change light fittings while the gentlemen are all about their ceiling fans.  Here is just a tiny pic of one of literally 100s of light fittings, chandeliers & fans that I have fitted over the years for customers including my better half!

Screws, Nuts & Bolts

My wife is always amused as to how I am only able to find the right sized screw or nail when they are all scattered on the floor -  in a 'neat pile' - despite that she has gifted me on so many Father's Days with countless tool boxes and screw & nail organizers.....  This is still my preferred method!

Outdoor Play Set Installation

A large back yard in prestigious Hidden Hills, Calabasas, needed a park-sized play set installed for the family's children. My buddy Paolo helped me re-arrange countless pieces that needed to be matched up before helping me with the installation of this mammoth set. Turned out great and the kids love it! Graci Paolo!

Plantation Shutters Folding Doors

Plantation bi-fold doors and window shutters also known as Caribbean shutters add both elegance and privacy to any room, while still allowing light in.  My 'Mrs' wanted our bedroom sliding door leading onto our balcony dressed up with plantation bi-fold doors and centered with light drapes for a soft touch.

Painting

I spruced up this client's bedroom walls in 2 contrasting colors in a low sheen and easy washable paint.
Painting is therapeutic - to both resident and painter alike. For the home owner it's a clean fresh start and to the painter, it provides hours of reflection time with one's thoughts.

Balconies

California's harsh heat conditions takes its toll on pretty much everything needing maintenance. However I particularly make a point of reminding my clients who have balconies, especially in older homes, to check for sturdiness on both flooring support and banister security. I call this Safety Before Beauty!

Modular Cabinetry

The 'Kitchen-in-a-Box' as I call it or even the wardrobe-in-a-box is becoming ever popular as DIY center remodeling showrooms are filled with standard modular grab and go affordable designs  that can transform an old kitchen in a day or two. I dismantle and discard old units before replacing all the cabinetry and accessories and finish off any unsightly ends.

Basic Plumbing

Yup - as long as it doesn't mean breaking through walls or floors to do hardcore piping, I pretty much do it all -  faucet installation,  toilet and basins replacements, under kitchen counter leaks, toilet leaks -  does panic don't mix it - call me and I'll fix it

Bathroom Remodel

Whether its to spruce an original bathroom or adding new vanities, bathrooms and light tiling, modern rails or support rails, lighting etc. its doable

Wooden Floor

Wood is my passion, so naturally installing natural or faux wood or refurbishing existing wooden floors is second nature to me.

Vinyl Floor Installation

Well where do I start?  The one year my wife had me change our vinyl wood floors in our bedrooms 3 times in one year alone - because she couldn't figure out if she liked light, dark, or stressed wood. A mere 2 square foot area for testing wasn't going to do the trick - I had to replace the entire area of all 3 bedrooms and the passage way.  Fortunately for me, vinyl tongue and groove click floors are pretty affordable and for her, the labor was FREE!

Insulation

Now this is a specialized field.  Having stated that, I have most definitely dabbled - and successfully just so we are clear - in adding insulation to new and existing walls in some of my client's homes.

Dry Walls / Partitions

Just like the ceiling installation and repairs description, the same applies to dry walling and partitions.  These were some of the largest projects that my old man threw at me - no favoritism for being his younger son - nope - I even remember working from 9pm to 5am while offices and stores were closed as we could not disturb trade or teams during regular business hours.  It was tough but it made me a disciplined worker.

Ceiling Repair

My old man who I sadly lost years ago taught me everything I know about dry walls & partitioning. He was a master carpenter and I attribute my hard earned skills to him. There are even large banks, department stores and malls ceilings that I proudly project managed teams. But I am at my happiest working on homes, the small business owner's office or the neighborhood store.
